Belotero Is a Different Kind of Filler
With all of the options available in the way of hyaluronic (HA) acid fillers, it may be confusing. You might have already heard of Belotero, which is one of the latest and greatest in the line-up of fillers. The chances are good that you’ve heard of Restylane and Juvederm. Much like those two fillers, Belotero is a HA acid filler that is used to fill in fine lines and moderate to severe wrinkles on the face. It’s purpose is to add subtle plumpness and volume to facial tissue, which gives an appearance that is more youthful, refreshed, and glowing.
Belotero treatments provide natural results with very little recovery time involved. The HA acid-based gel is more soft than most other products on the market, so it adapts to the contours of the face as it integrates into facial skin more easily. Many patients report seeing instant results with wrinkle reduction and an appearance that happens more subtly and is more natural-looking than other HA fillers.
The side effects of Belotero are minimal and typical for most facial fillers, which may include temporary, mild bruising and facial redness or swelling for some patients. The primary difference between this filler and other HA fillers is that it’s made to treat superficial facial lines and wrinkles that are closer to the surface of the skin.
In addition, Belotero has lasting power compared to other HA fillers — up to 12 months. Most clients see results for about three to six months following treatment with other HA products. Mirza Aesthetics — the developer of Belotero — claims that it lasts 12 months on average compared to six to eight months for Juvederm.
Belotero may allow doctors to treat superficial lines without the “Tyndall Effect” which sometimes happens when other fillers are injected too superficially. This effect leaves an unwanted bluish hue under the skin.
