About the Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is a great way to tighten the legs for a more attractive appearance. This is especially effective for those who have loose, sagging skin due to significant weight loss.

How Does the Thigh Lift Work?

There are a number of different thigh lift techniques, addressing the inner, outer, and upper thigh. All of these require your surgeon to create an incision where remaining fat deposits can be removed, and so excess skin can be removed. Sutures are used to seal the wound and will be absorbed by the body. Tubes may be used under the skin to aid in drainage of excess blood and fluid that might develop from surgery.

Depending on the procedure, local or general anesthesia may be used.

Are There Side Effects?

Bruising, pain, swelling, and general discomfort are to be expected as this is a serious surgical procedure. While a mini thigh lift might be an outpatient procedure with a quick recovery time, more dynamic procedures may require staying overnight and post-procedure recovery may take two weeks or more.

Is this Right For Me?

This procedure is best for those who have a slightly above average body weight and are in good general health. The best results are achieved by those who have sagging skin from weight loss that cannot be remedied by diet or more exercise. Those who are obese or not in good health may not be good candidates for a thigh lift.
